Some of you out there might be wondering (who am i kidding, no one reads this thing anyway) why I have only added youtube videos to my posts thus far. Well, as it turns out, adding audio links to a blog post is actually incredibly difficult, if not impossible. You can't simply link to a file on your computer, so you have to find a site that will host the mp3 files that you want to link to. However, even after you figure this out, you need to link to this file with some fancy HTML code, which if you don't understand HTML (and i most certainly don't) leaves you with nothing but confusion and frustration. All told I have spent probably 6 hours trying to figure out how to add an audio link with no success.
HTML, I hate you.
Harris + audio link in blog post = epic fail
Anyway, I am going to keep trying, and if anyone feels like helpin' a brotha' out, hit me up.

A new The National LP
It has been nearly three years since the National released Boxer in May of 2007, and finally they have a new record coming out. Although it is not yet named, lead singer Matt Berninger said that the record is about 75% done and that it is slated for a May 2010 release. These guys are one of my favorite bands and I am still spinning Boxer quite frequently even after 3 years. If I knew anything about HTML, I would say the following: "Until May then, here are two of my favorite tracks from their past two albums:" However, I do not, so below is a video from one of my favorite songs:

Coachella Lineup Announced
Okay, so the lineup for Coachella came out yesterday and the list is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz are each headlining one of the nights, which by itself would be intriguing. However, the organizers didn't stop there and instead assembled a can't miss lineup with over 40 bands scheduled to perform each day.
My personal can't miss list includes the following:
Friday: Jay-Z, LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, Yeasayer, Ra Ra Riot and White Rabbits
Saturday: Muse, MGMT, David Guetta, Hot Chip, The xx, Tokyo Police Club, Frightened Rabbit and Pretty Lights
Sunday: Pheonix, Julian Casablancas, Matt & Kim and Local Natives

Coachella Lineup
The 2010 Coachella festival will be taking place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA on April 16, 17 and 18. The lineup is supposed to be announced on Tuesday morning, January 19 at www.coachella.com, but there are rumors that the xx could be performing.
I am definitely late to the party on these guys, but I picked up their debut LP yesterday and was pretty impressed. They appeared on all sorts of Best of 2009 lists, and while it wasn't the best record I've ever heard, it is a pretty impressive debut for a bunch of teenagers from London. Some of their songs have appeared on some TV shows, but in my opinion the highlight of the record is track 4, "Islands". The dueling parts between the guy and girl on this one presents a very cool contrast.

New Compatriot
The cow says dance is proud to announce that a close compatriot has signed on as new contributor to this blog. And since there has been only one post thus far, that is probably a good thing. His musical stylings differ slightly from my own, but he should bring a different perspective. Enjoy!

Welcome
As anyone that knows me is aware, I am obsessed with music, so this blog is going to be my attempt to chronicle my relentless pursuit of new music. I don't stick to anyone genre per se, but I do tend to lean left in my musical tastes at the moment (read independent music). Hope you enjoy the musical musings of a madman and please feel free to let me know what you think.
