Weekly Reviews - The Knife - Deep Cuts

So I may have gone way off the reservation with this one, which after reading / listening to some of my previous posts most of you might be thinking: "that's impossible, he's already so far off the reservation I have no idea where he finds this crazy music." But after seeing that one of the GorillavsBear guys listed this as his favorite band and I heard a song by them on SiriusXMU I decided to take a chance on this band.

May I then present The Knife, an electronic Swedish duo that are, admittedly, quite strange. I'm not the biggest fan of straight electronic music, but the vocals work really well with the beats on these tracks and I found myself really enjoying it (disclaimer, I have listened to it 5 times all the way through in the day and a half since I bought it). While some of the tracks make absolutely no sense, many of them are unique in their own right and I find myself grooving to a lot of them. This record came out back in 2006 so it is not new, but my guess is that a lot of y'all haven't come across them during your music listening careers. I would recommend listening to the two tracks below (my personal favorites) and if you like them I would encourage you to buy it. As for a rating for Deep Cuts, we'll go with a 4.0 for now (partly on uniqueness for me), but I can definitely see this one growing on me in the coming months.
