The Morning Benders - Major 60's Pop Influence

Despite the fact that The Morning Benders just released their sophmore album Big Echo last Tuesday, it feels like this record could have just as easily come out in 1965, so strong are the 60's pop influences in their music. That's not to say that they haven't added their own modern touch to the music, it is just that I haven't heard a band whose music is so heavily influenced by that era in quite a while. Although I don't think the record as a whole is that great, the below two songs are really strong and make me feel like I am again riding along in my Dad's car on the way to school (all he listened to was 60's pop music while I was growing up). Below are by far my two favorite tracks:

Excuses
Promises

  1. Been trying to get Kevo into this band for a while now... wonder if he'll listen now. They put out a covers album a while back. You can find it on mediafire or other places. Some really stellar covers on there. They did the best cover of Dreams I've ever heard.
